Cox’s Bazar Session and District Judge Faridul Alam said the court approved the order at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Sinha’s sister, Sharmin Shahria Ferdous, filed the petition in the court of Cox’s Bazar Chief Judge (Cox’s Bazar Sadar-4) Tamanna Farah.

“Before and after Sinha’s murder, the defendant in the case had contact with police superintendent ABM Masud Hossain,” the petition reads. The police are directly and indirectly helping the super defendants. Therefore, for the sake of a fair trial, it is necessary to include him as a defendant ”.

PP Faridul said: “The court rejected the request because it was not consistent with the case under investigation. The court said the investigating officer has the power to take legal action against anyone who influences or interferes in the case under investigation.

On the night of July 31, Sinha was shot dead by police at the Baharchhara checkpoint near Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.

In addition, a high-level investigative committee formed by the Interior Ministry presented its report on Monday. However, the ministry has yet to say what is in the report.
