Abdul Wahab Talukder, general manager (planning) of Titas, said they had dug the entire road on the east and north sides of the mosque.
More than 50 people were burned in an explosion at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque around 8:30 pm on Friday. At least 26 people, including a child and the imam of the mosque, were killed. Nine more are in critical condition in the burn unit at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The explosion burned six BC in the mosque. The window glass shattered. The Fire and Civil Defense Service, the District Administration, Titas Gas, DPDC, City Corporation have formed five separate committees to investigate the incident.
Abdul Wahab Talukder, head of the Titas committee, told reporters: “All the Titas lines were excavated by excavating the entire road on the east and north sides of the mosque. No leaks were found on the east side, but six holes were found in the pipe on the north side. After repairing, the gas supply has started. “
He said: “In the fourth column on the north side of the mosque, the basement foundations have crossed the Titas pipeline and entered a six-inch road. The Titus pipe wrap was ruined while the basement foundation was being worked on. Because of this, the pipe has come into contact with the ground and has been perforated. Gas has come out of that hole.
“We have six holes. I have closed them. Now the line is full of gasoline. “
He said, “There are two power lines here. One of them is valid. Other is not valid. Our initial idea is that the accident happened by an electric spark while turning the line with an electric changer. We have completed our physical investigation as it was. Now we have file work. I called people for local data collection. The report will be sent on Thursday. “
Each of the victims of the mosque explosion demanded 50 lakh rupees and employment.
