Brahmanbaria is not allowed to speak about the Islamic Mufti spokesman. The police have stopped Gias Uddin At-Taheri’s “anti-drug and anti-teen gang” meeting.
The meeting was scheduled to take place in the Machihata union’s Chapuir village in Sadar upazila on Wednesday. Earlier in the morning, the police went there and closed the meeting.
Police said the meeting was canceled due to the coronavirus. However, Mufti Taheri claimed that the meeting was held on a small scale due to the coronavirus.
The meeting is known to have been organized by an organization called ‘Dawate Imani Bangladesh’ in an open space in front of the residence of Mufti Gias Uddin At-Taheri in the village of Chapuir. Taheri himself is the founding president of the organization. Machihata Union Parishad President Al Aminul Haque Pavel was scheduled to be the main guest of the meeting. But the president did not come to the meeting place as the police closed the meeting.

A team led by Deputy Inspector (SI) Sohrab Hossain from the Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station closed the meeting at around 11 a.m. M. From today. This sowed anger among those who attended the meeting.
In this regard, Mufti Gias Uddin At-Taheri told the media: ‘Drugs have spread in our area, so we feel the need to hold an anti-drug meeting. Teens who will benefit the country and the nation by studying are forming gangs of teens. To raise awareness, I organized anti-drug and anti-teen gang meetings with prominent people in the area.
Taheri added: “Due to the coronavirus, we organized the meeting on a small scale. But it has been banned by the administration. The administration has assured us that they will also be present at the event next time.
Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station, SI Sohrab Hossain, said: ‘In the current situation in Corona, public gatherings are officially prohibited. That is why Taheri has been asked to close the meeting.
