The accused nursing assistant Abdul Motaleb Mia has been transferred in connection with the beating of Shahinur Rahman, a senior nurse (brother) on duty at the hands of the son of a colleague at Manikganj Sadar Hospital. According to the statement, Motaleb Miah had an argument with Head Nurse Shahinur Rahman over internal problems in the hospital caregiver’s room on September 1 at noon. At that moment Motaleb became angry and threatened to kill Shahinur. Motaleb then called her son, Chhatra League activist Dihan Tanmoy, on her mobile phone to go to the hospital with her associates. Soon after, Dihan arrived at the hospital with his colleagues and beat Shahinur, who worked in the emergency department, with an iron bar and a GI pipe. Tanmoy then took Shahinur’s money out of his pocket and threatened to kill him.
The investigating officer in the case, Sadar Police Station (SI) Deputy Inspector Tutul Uddin, said the defendant Motaleb and his son Tanmoy have been released on court bail. The case is being investigated.
