Md. From the Naikhyangchhari border of Bandarban. A Bangladeshi citizen named Yusuf has been kidnapped by Myanmar border guards. He was reportedly taken away on Monday night. Yusuf is the son of Soleiman from the village of Fultali in Naikhyangchhari.
According to the locals, Yusuf was kidnapped by Myanmar border guards while wandering around the area of Pillar No. 48 of No Man’s Land in Fultali-Jaruliachhari in Naikhyangchhari.
Border guards say members of the Myanmar military tied Yusuf’s hands and feet and left him at the border in the afternoon before taking him away for the night.
In this regard, Sadia Afrin Kochi, an official from Naikhyangchhari Upazila Nirbahi (UN), said: ‘I have heard the news of the arrest of a citizen of Bangladesh. The matter is being discussed with interested persons at the border.
Meanwhile, after the incident, the BGB contacted and protested. However, no source responsible for the BGB could be found.
