In the Daulatdia area of Goaland upazila in the Rajbari district, a huge bagar fish has been caught in the Padma River. Seen by weight, his weight is 43 kg. The fish has been sold for Rs 1,300 per kg and Rs 55,900 per kg.
Locals flock to Daulatdia Ferry Wharf No. 5 to catch a glimpse of the fish. The fish was caught in Ananda Haldar’s net from the Kabibpurchar area of the Daulatdia Padma River in the early hours of Monday (6 September).
The fish was brought to the Dulal Mandal Fish Market in the Daulatdia Ferry Ghat area around 8am on Monday. Later, the fish traders from Shakil Sohan, Shahjahan Sheikh and Sheikh Nuru, bought the fish at Tk 1,140 per kg for Tk 49,020.

Jailer Anand Haldar said: ‘After many days, I caught so many big fish in my net. Usually such a large fish is not available. Fishermen were caught in the middle of the river in the middle of the river in the Kabibpurchar area of the Daulatdia Padma river caught fish. I have never caught such a big fish before, the fishermen on my boat are very happy to catch the fish. Fish traders Shahjahan Sheikh and Nuru Sheikh bought the 43 kg bagar at 1,140 Tk / kg for 49,020 Tk.
Shahjahan Sheikh, a local fishmonger at Daulatdia Ferry Ghat, said: ‘I bought the 43 kg bagar fish at Tk 1,140 per kg for Tk 49,020. After contacting via mobile, the fish was sold at Tk 1,300 per kg in Dhaka at Tk 55,900 and shipped to Dhaka.
