Dhaka: The Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and Secretary General of the Awami League, Obaidul Quader, has expressed concern that the corona virus could turn fatal at any moment.
He also urged everyone not to suffer or be complacent about the current state of infection control.
The general secretary of the Awami League expressed this concern at a press conference at the government residence in the Sangsad Bhaban area on Monday (September 8).
Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said it was not yet clear whether corona infections had declined across the country. Meanwhile, on Sunday (September 6), researchers said that the corona virus is changing rapidly in Bangladesh. Although the conversion rate in the world is approximately seven percent, the rate in this country is approximately 13 percent. Furthermore, the ‘second wave’ of corona infection has started in many countries. I urge compatriots not to suffer from complacency or carelessness in seeing the controlled state of the infection at the current stage, at any time corona infection can take a fatal form. Therefore, I urge everyone to be very careful in following hygiene rules, including wearing masks. About 90,000 patients have been identified in the last 24 hours in our neighboring countries. The impact of the additional infection from Brazil has also been felt in neighboring Argentina.
Obaidul Quader further said, the BNP general secretary has complained that the government is destroying the economy? Today, Bangladesh is recognized worldwide as a role model for development and progress. Seeing the positive trend in capacity and economic variables, are the BNP leaders lying? Despite the stagnation of the world economy in Corona, Bangladesh has recently set a record in remittance inflows, increased exports and foreign exchange reserves.
The country’s economy is now built on a solid foundation under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Has BNP ever imagined growth of more than 6 percent during your tenure? Does the formulation and implementation of a budget of five lakh 6 thousand crore carry the identity of a weak economy?
Per capita income is now $ 2,840. BNP does not see the unprecedented success of Bangladesh in all indicators of economic and social development. Today, Bangladesh is in a strong position in the world economy to achieve positive growth in all indicators, including improving people’s living standards, reducing poverty, increasing employment, increasing exports. faced with dependence on imports, increasing employment abroad, food security and industrial development.
He further said, I would like to tell Mirza Fakhrul Sahib, you have spread the poison of unrest in the politics of this country. The patent on the policy of the terrorist conspiracy and murder is yours.
Sheikh Hasina does not believe in the politics of division, you are the bearers and carriers of the politics of division. He has repeatedly cut the root of harmony in Bangladesh. He is making the country small by criticizing the government. Negative politics and lies are alienating you more than ever and if you continue like this you will become increasingly irrelevant.
Regarding the nomination of the Awami League candidates in the by-elections, Obaidul Quader said that a meeting of the party’s parliamentary board was held in Ganobhaban on August 30. In accordance with the unanimous decision of the meeting chaired by the President of the Board, Sheikh Hasina, and the instructions of the head of the party, I am announcing the names of the candidates nominated by the Awami League in the by-elections of Dhaka-5 and Naogaon -6. Anwar Hossain Helal received the party’s nomination. For this reason, we call on everyone to unite and work for the victory of the party’s candidate.
