Covid-19 is changing much faster in Bangladesh than in any other country in the world. Its exchange rate in the world is 7.23 percent, but in the case of Bangladesh it is 12.80 percent.

So far, five different corona viruses (Covid-19) have been found in the country by looking at Covid-19 infection, mutation rate, genetic characteristics, non-synonymous mutations, and genomic phylogeny. That is not found anywhere else in the world.

The BCSIR Genome Research Laboratory’s Covid-19 Genome Sequencing Report Awareness Meeting was held in the auditorium of the Bangladesh Council of Science and Industry (BCSIR) on Sunday. Maryland. Aftab Ali Sheikh gave this information.

Professor Dr. Maryland. Aftab Ali Sheikh said that a total of 263 data analysis and genome sequencing of the SARS-Cov-2 virus were carried out to monitor the genetic diversity of Corona virus Disease 19 (Covid-19). The samples were collected from May 8 to July 31 of this year. The genome sequencing of the samples was published on the Global Initiative for the International Database for Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID).

The BCSIR President said: “In the current global Covid-19 epidemic, scientists around the world are investigating the source, speed, nature and spread of the SARS-Cov-2 virus, as well as drugs and vaccines for the virus. To that end, he also undertook a project to sequence the SARS-Cove-2 virus genome in Bangladesh. The Genome Sequencing Laboratory undertook the whole genome sequencing project of a total of 300 T viruses in eight departments of Bangladesh. The research results will be published in international journals in the form of research articles. At the same time, the report was sent to about 50 Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers in the world, including China, the US and the University of Oxford.

According to the research report, A414 (the reason why aspartic glycine is 614 in the spike routine) was found to be the dominant variant in 100% of the collected samples. Of the 263 SARS-Cov-2 viruses obtained, 243 included clade GR, clade 18 G, and clade 10. The research report further states that when analyzing 263 SARS-Cove-2 genomes, mutations occur in a total of 638 points. Of these, 356 are non-synonymous amino acid substitutes. The rate of mutations in the 263 SARS-Cov-2 viruses obtained so far is 24.64 nucleotides per year. The mutation rate per sample worldwide is 7.23. Which can be seen in the case of Bangladesh 12.60. In other words, the SARS-Cove-2 virus is changing its shape in Bangladesh much faster than in any other country. Of the 103 nucleotide mutations in the spike protein gene, 53 non-synonymous ammonia substitutions occur most frequently, of which five are distinct. That is not found anywhere else in the world. The repetition of four mutations can be observed in 100% of the collected samples.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Science and Technology, the architect Yafes Osman and researchers from the BCSIR Genomic Research Laboratory.
