Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday ordered the concerned authorities to reveal the cause of the terrible explosion at a mosque in Narayanganj. Several people died in the explosion.
The leader made the remarks while participating in a discussion in Parliament on Sunday about the deaths of former President Pranab Mukherjee and members of the 11th National Assembly, defender Sahara Khatun and Israfil Alam.
Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury raised this motion of mourning at the ninth session of the XI National Assembly.
Sheikh Hasina said: “I have instructed all concerned, including the cabinet secretary, to reveal the cause of the explosion at the Narayanganj mosque.” An investigation committee has already been formed to find out the cause of the explosion at the Narayanganj mosque and the Prime Minister hopes that the cause of the tragic accident will come to light soon after the investigation begins.
He added that experts have visited the site and evidence has been collected.
At that time, the House Leader ordered everyone involved to investigate whether there were any irregularities in approving the construction of a mosque on a gas pipeline or allowing the connection of electricity to six air conditioners in such a small area.
