Dhaka: It has been discovered that there are five different types of corona virus (Covid-19) in the country by observing the infection by the corona virus (SARS-Cov-2), the mutation rate, the genetic characteristics, the mutations not synonyms and genomic phylogeny in Bangladesh. That is not found anywhere else in the world.
The BCSIR Genomics Research Laboratory’s COVID-19 genome sequencing report awareness meeting was held in the auditorium of the Bangladesh Council of Science and Industry (BCSIR) on Sunday morning (September 6). Maryland. Aftab Ali Sheikh gave this information.
Researchers from the BCSIR Genomic Research Laboratory were present on the occasion, including Yafes Osman, Minister of Science and Technology.
Maryland. Aftab Ali Sheikh said that a total of 263 data analysis and genome sequencing of the SARS-Cov-2 virus were carried out to monitor the genetic diversity of the Corona virus (Covid-19 virus for short-covid-19). The samples were collected from May 8 to July 31 of this year. The genome sequencing of the samples is published on the Global Initiative for the International Database for Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID).
The research report noted that in the collected samples, the dominant variant was found to be G414 (the cause of aspartic glycine at position 614 in the spike routine). Of the 263 SARS-Cov-2 viruses obtained, 243 included clade GR, clade 18 G, and clade 1 O.
He also mentions that when analyzing 263 SARS-Cove-2 genomes, mutations are known to occur at a total of 638 points. Of these, 358 are non-synonymous amino acid substitutes. The rate of mutations in the 263 SARS-Cov-2 viruses obtained so far is 24.64 nucleotides per year. The mutation rate per sample worldwide is 7.23. Which can be seen in the case of Bangladesh 12.60. In other words, the SARS-Cove-2 virus is changing its shape in Bangladesh much faster than in any other country. Of the 103 nucleotide nutations in the spike protein gene, 53 non-synonymous ammonia substitutions occur most frequently, of which five are distinct. That is not found anywhere else in the world. The repetition of four nutations can be observed in 100% of the collected sampling time.
The BCSIR president said that in the current global Covid-19 epidemic, scientists around the world are investigating the source, speed, nature, and spread of the SARS-Cov-2 virus, as well as drugs and vaccines for the virus. To that end, he also undertook a project to sequence the SARS-Cove-2 virus genome in Bangladesh. The Genome Sequencing Laboratory undertook the whole genome sequencing project of a total of 300 T viruses in eight departments of Bangladesh. The research results will be published in international journals in the form of research articles. At the same time, the report was sent to about 50 companies in the world, including China, the US, Oxford University, and about 50 Covid-19 vaccine companies.
