Two more people were killed in an explosion at a mosque in Narayanganj. The death toll rose to 23.

Julhas Uddin (30) and Shamim Hossain (48) died in the early hours of Sunday.

He died while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Perth Shankar Pal, a resident physician at the institute, said the condition of those admitted to the hospital was critical.

He said that of the 36 people who were admitted to the Burn Institute with burns, 21 died at 11 p.m. Saturday.

Among those killed in the explosion at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque in the Fatullah Talla area in Narayanganj are the mosque’s muezzin, the imam and two children.

The other dead are- Imam Abdul Malek (55), Md. Mizan alias Nizam (40) and Nadeem (45), Rifat (18), Mostafa Kamal (34), Jubayer (18), Sabbir (21), Quddus Byapari ( 62), Humayun Kabir (60), Ibrahim (43), Moazzin Delwar Hossain (48), Junaid (18), Jamal (40), Jubayer (6), Jewel, Russell (34), Nayan (28), Rashed ( 30), Kanchan Hawlader (50), Mainuddin (12) and Baharuddin (50), Md. Bahauddin (55 years old).

At the end of Esha Jamaat on Friday night, a loud explosion occurred at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque. More than 50 devotees were burned in it. The explosion burned six BC in the mosque. The window glass is blown off. Five fire service units arrived at the scene and controlled the fire after trying for half an hour. Abdul Gafur Mia, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque, which was destroyed by the blast, said: “Seven days ago, gas was bubbling from the floor of the mosque’s lobby. I was thinking that this gas is leaking from the gas line next door. So I went to the Titas regional office in Narayanganj and made a verbal request to remove the gas pipe. An office official wants a bribe of Rs 50,000 to remove the gas pipeline.
