Dhaka: The death toll from an air conditioning blast at a mosque in Fatullah in Narayanganj has risen to 22. Of these, four died in broad daylight on Saturday (September 5).
They are Abdul Malek (72), Mizan Hossain Nizam (40), Nadeem (45) and Shamim (45).

Her home is in the Putiajuri village of Muradnagar in Comilla. His son Abdul Malek also died on Saturday night. Furthermore, his son Junaid (18) also died along with Muazzin Delwar Hossain. He came to his father from Langalkot in Comilla two days ago.
The deceased have been identified as Mostafa Kamal, 34, son of Karim Mizi from Hatbukdia village in Louhjong upazila from Munshiganj, Jewel, 06, son of Julhas Faraji from Fatullah and Abdul Khaleq Hawlad from Galachipa upazila from Patuakhali. Rashed (30), Humayun Kabir (62) from Talla area, Md. Kaukhali, Rangabali upazila village of Patuakhali. Belayet’s son Jamal Abedin (40), garment worker Ibrahim Biswas (43), college student from Narayanganj New Khanpur Bank Colony, Md. Rifat, 18, son of the late Mohsin from the village of Sheikhdi in Faridganj upazila from Chandpur, Mainuddin, 12, son of Anwar Hossain de Fatullah, Joynal, 38, textile worker Nayan, 28, from Taluk Palashi village in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat, son of Abdul Fatlahler, 5 Kanchan Hawladar (50 years).
Meanwhile, the bodies of 18 people killed in the incident have been handed over to their families without an autopsy since 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Narayanganj Sadar Upazila, Executive Officer (UN), Nahida Barik and Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) said. Jahed Parvez Chowdhury handed over the body to his relatives.
A horrible air conditioning blast took place at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque in the West Talla area of Fatullah around 9:15 pm on Friday (September 4). After that, 36 burned people were admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Plastic Surgery and Burns in the capital. Of these, 22 have so far died while in treatment. The condition of the rest of the faithful is also critical, the doctors said.
