If building materials, permanent or temporary shops, infrastructure, etc. are found on the sidewalks and roads of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area, the mayor of DNCC has given instructions to auction them immediately. Atiqul Islam.
He gave the instructions to DNCC officials while participating in a virtual meeting on Friday.
Mobile courts and auctions will begin in all areas of the DNCC on September 6 to remove illegal structures from sidewalks and roads.
The mayor said: “Water hyacinths are not cleaned in government or privately owned bodies of water. To protect city dwellers from mosquitoes, they have to be forced to clean hyacinths.”
In addition, measures will be taken against illegal billboards and advertisements, said the DNCC mayor.
