Half of the leaves are green and exactly half are yellow. Such colors are never seen on this tree. There is a rush to buy this tree from an online trading site called ‘Trade Me’. In the end, the auction ended at four lakh 63 lakhs.
As written on the trade site, the tree was not artificially colored. It has such a rare color in a completely natural way. According to an environmentalist, photosynthesis occurs in the green part of the tree and sugars are formed in the yellow part.
A total of three people are known to have purchased this tree. One of them said: ‘Actually, we bought this tree by three. Then a beautiful tropical garden will be created. It will have such a rare species of trees. There will also be birds and butterflies. And there will be a restaurant in the middle of that garden. Not just in New Zealand, but around the world, such a tropical garden may not be seen anywhere else.
