Narayanganj: The air conditioning (AC) of the Baitus Salat Jame mosque in the Paschimatalla area of Fatulla in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila has exploded. The locals fear many victims.
They are being sent to local hospitals and the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The explosion took place on Friday (September 4) at 9:15 pm.
Speaking to some locals, it was learned that the air conditioning inside the mosque exploded at 9.45am. Within moments, panic spread among the 30 or 40 people inside the mosque. They tried to leave in a hurry. Many of them were burned and injured.
Narayanganj Fire Service Deputy Director Abdullah Al Arefin said that a fire service team was working at the scene.
According to a main Bangladesh correspondent for the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Institute, eight people have been admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Institute in connection with the blast at a mosque in Narayanganj.
Said the coordinator of the institute. Samanta Lal Sen said that only eight people were brought from Narayanganj. However, we have learned that there are more injuries in this incident. They are in treatment.
