Wahida Khanam, an officer of Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi (UNO) of Dinajpur, and two Juba League leaders arrested on suspicion of attacking their father have been expelled. Those expelled are Jahangir Alam, convenor of the Upazila Juba League and Asadul Islam, a member.

Juba League Central Secretary General Alhaj Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil confirmed the information on Friday afternoon.

The Juba League general secretary said: ‘Juba League is an orderly organization. There is no place here for terrorists and extortionists. The leaders of the Juba League, Jahangir Alam and Asadul Islam, who were arrested in connection with the attack on Ghoraghat UNO, have been expelled on the order of the president of the Juba League, Sheikh Fazle Shams Parsh.

Following the incident, police from Hakimpur, Birampur and Ghoraghat in Dinajpur and a team from Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Rangpur-13 carried out a joint operation and arrested Asadul Islam and Jahangir Alam at their sister’s home in the Kaliganj area in Hili on Friday morning. .

In addition, the police arrested Nahid Hossain Palash, a night watchman at UNO Wahida Khanam’s residence, and Masud Rana, president of the Singra Union Juba League of upazila this morning. Amirul Islam, the police officer in charge of Ghoraghat, said they were detained in Ghoraghat.

A group of criminals entered UNO Wahida Khanam’s official residence via a staircase at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday. They broke the fan in the house and entered the house and started beating Wahida Khanam with a hammer. When her father, who was in the next room, heard UNO’s screams and tried to save her, the malefactors also wounded her. Later, other residents of the neighborhood heard her screams and reported to the police. They were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. Later, when the situation deteriorated, Wahida Khanam was transferred to Dhaka on Thursday.

Waheeda Khanam’s surgery was completed Thursday night. Her wisdom has finally returned. She also spoke with her husband. Doctors said he was under observation for 72 hours. She’s not safe yet. However, doctors at the National Institute of Neuroscience and the hospital are optimistic about her recovery.
