Dhaka: The right leg of a Bangladeshi Atomic Energy Commission official was completely crushed below the knee in a bus accident in Banani, the capital. The official woman’s name is Afroza Begum.

Fortunately, he survived.

On Friday (September 4) around 12 noon, the bus crushed him as he got off the bus at the corner of Sainik Club in Banani.

Afroza Begum was rescued in critical condition and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital after pedestrians at the scene reported to the police. Later, her relatives took her to the invalid hospital for better treatment.

Afroza Begum’s son Al Amin told banglanews this information.

He said his mother worked as a technical officer in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). On Friday, she was returning home from Palash Upazila in Narsingdi on a bus to Cantonment Kachukshet in the capital.

He added that doctors at the disabled hospital said it would not be possible to keep his mother’s bruised leg.

Her right leg and right hand were injured. However, the legs have been further damaged. The bus was impounded shortly after the incident, but the driver escaped.
