Iranian President. Hassan Rouhani has said that the failure of the United States to pass a resolution extending the arms embargo against his country is unprecedented in the history of the United Nations.
He made the remarks at the inauguration of three major projects in the northern and northwestern provinces of Kermanshah, East Azerbaijan and Ardabil. Iran’s Ministry of Energy is implementing these projects.
On August 4, the United Nations Security Council approved a resolution expanding sanctions against Iran and the Dominican Republic voted in favor of the United States. All of America’s allies, including Britain, France and Germany, and Russia and China, opposed the proposal.
President Rouhani has said the United States has never had to travel from country to country to pass an anti-Iran resolution in the 70-year history of the UN Security Council before it failed to pass a resolution extending the embargo on weapons against Iran. Washington has managed to win the support of only one country, even after months of asking for votes in different countries around the world. This is a very important issue and the United States has been defeated due to the strong position of the Iranian people.
President Rouhani also said that all of America’s anti-Iranian dreams have been destroyed by this failure.
