Dhaka: State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said armed members of ANSA were being deployed to the homes of Upazila Nirbahi (UNO) officers working in the field administration.
She said this while visiting UNO Wahida Khanam at the National Institute of Neuroscience and Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday (September 3) after she was seriously injured in the attack.
Later, Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told Bangladesh by phone that he had discussed the matter with the secretary-general. Members of Ansar are being recruited for United Nations security. The decision is expected to be implemented next week.
Wahida Khanam and her father were seriously injured when two masked men smashed a two-story fan in the government premises at midnight. He was later taken to Dhaka by air ambulance.
When asked about the security of field administration officials, the minister of state said: “We had a demand at the DC conference to strengthen the security arrangements for the United Nations.” That is also in the order of the Prime Minister. We have already had discussions with the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of the Interior and the Secretary of Public Security and the Secretary of Finance.
“We are going to make sure that the Ansar battalion members are assigned to protect our houses from UNO next week. ‘
If this decision is implemented, UNO will obtain Ansar members as security guards in each upazila. However, the Interior Ministry will decide how many will receive it.

Regarding the treatment of the UN, the minister of state said: “The prime minister has instructions so that we can assure him the best treatment.” He will have an operation at 9 pm. A team has also been formed for this. Hopefully his condition improves after the operation.
