Wahida Khanam, executive officer of Ghoraghat Upazila (UN) in Dinajpur, is in critical condition after being attacked by criminals. The director of the Hospital of the National Institute of Neurosciences said that it was not possible to operate or take him abroad now because his skull was broken.

The criminals hacked UNO Wahida and his father, the freedom fighter, Omar Ali Sheikh, at the government residence around 2.30 pm on Wednesday. His condition is critical and he is still unconscious. He was flown to Dhaka by helicopter on Thursday afternoon.
They were rescued Thursday morning and taken to Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital, where the seriously injured UNO was kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and received first aid.
Speaking about the physical condition of UNO Wahid, the head of the neurosurgery department at Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital, Dr. Prince Nath said that UNO Wahida Khanum had a stab wound to the left side of his head. Which is extremely serious. He is unconscious. He has lost consciousness. Quickly needs a major operation.
Meanwhile, the administration has cordoned off the Ghoraghat Upazila Parishad facility since Thursday morning in the wake of the attack on the UN. Dinajpur-6 MP Shibli Sadiq, Deputy Commissioner. Mahmudul Alam and District Police Superintendent Anwar Hossain were present at the scene.
Regarding the attack, the deputy commissioner said they initially thought that the attack on UNO Waheed was carried out with the intention of killing.
