Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain granted pretrial detention on Thursday.
The Badda SI Mominul Islam Police Station had requested a five-day pre-trial detention on September 1 after showing Sabrina’s arrest in the case.
On August 31, Gulshan Police Station Elections Officer Mohammad Momin Mia filed a case against Sabrina, who is currently in jail for a case of cheating on the coronavirus test.
According to the lawsuit, Sabrina committed the crime by becoming a dual voter with false information and having multiple national identity cards. She has been asked to take legal action against the defendant by submitting the information of her two NIDs.
The case has been brought pursuant to sections 14 and 15 of the National Identity Registration Act 2010. Article 14 provides for a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a fine of Taka 20,000 if the allegation of providing information is proven. false. And if the claim to carry more than one national identity card is proven in article 15, the same punishment can be imposed.
Dr. Sabrina’s national identity card has been declared invalid by the Electoral Commission.
Dr. who has served as Registrar of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the National Heart Institute and Hospital since 2015. Wife of Ariful Haque Chowdhury, CEO of Sabrina JKG. That is why she is known as Sabrina Arif Chowdhury.
Both are in jail on a JKG Health Care fraud charge for a coronavirus test. Her trial has started in that case as well.
