UNO Wahida Khanam and her father, freedom fighter Omar Ali, were injured in an attack by malefactors at the official residence of Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) in Dinajpur on Thursday morning.
They were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Ghoraghat Police Station The daily starK said: “The wrongdoers broke the bathroom fan in UNO’s home on the Upazila Parishad campus around 3 am today. When UNO found out, he was hit on the head with a sharp weapon.
“At that moment, his father stepped forward and the criminals beat him and fled,” he added.
He was rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with blood.
Upon receiving the news, senior police officials, including Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner Mahmudul Alam and Police Superintendent Anwar Hossain, came to the scene in the morning.

Ghoraghat UNO’s husband Wahida Khanam works as Pirganj UNO in Rangpur district. His father, Omar Ali, lived with Wahida Khanam.
