Several tweets were sent from Modi’s Twitter account urging followers to provide relief assistance through cryptocurrency.
Supporters were asked to contribute to Modi’s relief fund. These tweets were later removed from Modi’s account.
Twitter authorities said they were aware of such activities and had taken various measures to protect Modi’s Twitter account.
The hacking of the Indian Prime Minister’s account took place last July after the Twitter accounts of several known people around the world were hacked.
Among those whose Twitter accounts were hacked in July were US presidential candidate Joe Biden and tech billionaire Elon Musk.
