Supporters of Nazma Akter, president of the Awami League, who is waiting to be nominated by the Awami League in the parliamentary elections for the Dhaka-17 parliamentary seat, have organized a protest at the political office of the president of the Awami League in Dhanmondi.

Of the 141 Awami League candidates in the by-election of five vacant seats, 56 people, including Juba League president Mahila Nazma, bought nominations from Dhaka-17.

A meeting of the Awami League Parliamentary Nominating Board was held at its Ganobhaban official residence at 4 pm on Sunday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, president of the Awami League. Although the nomination for the Pabna-4 constituency was announced at the meeting, the names of the four remaining Awami League candidates, including the Dhaka-17 constituency, were not announced.
