Responding to the police request, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder on Tuesday ordered that they be sent to jail.

The investigating officer of the Turag Police Station, SI Anwar Hossain, brought the 63 people to court and asked them to keep them in jail until the end of the investigation.

SI Shafiqul Islam, a court police officer, told bdnews24.com that they were sent to court after a 14-day quarantine after returning home. The police report sent to the court says they have tarnished the country’s image in the foreign labor market and are plotting against the state while in quarantine.

After a 14-day quarantine, the suspects were arrested in the morning and taken to the Turag police station. Of these, 61 returned to Vietnam and two returned to Qatar.

When asked about them, the Turag police station, OC Nurul Maktakin, told bdnews24.com: “They committed crimes during their stay in the two countries. Their crime was reported from Vietnam. That is why 63 people have been shown detained as suspects (Article 54). But we do not have detailed information about what kind of criminals they are. Not everything is clear to us yet. “

On August 16, 108 Bangladeshis were sent back to Dhaka from Vietnam. All of them were kept in quarantine for 14 days at the Uttara Diabari camp due to the coronavirus situation. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh police received complaints about those who committed crimes in Vietnam. According to him, 61 of 106 people were arrested on Tuesday.
