Dhaka: In the administration, 220 officers from the deceased economic cadre to the administrative cadre have been promoted to undersecretaries.

On Tuesday (September 1), the Ministry of Public Function issued an order to promote these officials to the post of Senior Undersecretary.

In accordance with the regulations, they have been promoted and appointed as Special Manager (Undersecretary) in the Ministry of Public Function.

Among those promoted are three officials from the Bangladeshi Embassy abroad. They are Counselors of the Bangladeshi Embassy in Thailand. Mohammad Khairul Hasan, Manush Mitra, Economic Counselor in Italy and Dr. Commercial Counselor in South Korea. Maryland. Mizanur Rahman.

Shah Mohammad Mahbub, who has been attached to the Prime Minister’s Office to take over the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, has also been promoted to Under Secretary. The remainder work as chiefs, senior deputy chiefs, deputy chiefs, and joint heads in various ministries and departments.

In three separate orders in which it is indicated that their promotions will be effective from 2008 to 2018, it has been said that in the event of seniority in the position of Deputy Secretary, no economic benefits will be available before the notification is issued. In order to guarantee a dynamic, integrated and people-friendly administration, the government merged the economic structure with the administrative staff on November 13, 2016. In 2010, the government formed a high-level committee headed by then-Planning Minister AK Khandaker to merge the two cadres. On December 22, 2013, a memorandum of understanding was reached between the leaders of the two cadre associations to merge the two cadres.

At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on September 17, 2016, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered to integrate the economic table with the administrative table.
