BNP has paid tribute to Major General (Retired) CR Dutt, Commander of Sector 4 of the Bangladesh Liberation War. BNP leaders paid their respects on behalf of party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and acting chairwoman Tarique Rahman.
On Tuesday morning, BNP paid tribute to the body of Major General (retd) CR Dutta Bir Uttam, Commander of the Liberation War Sector and Founding Director General of the BDR, in front of house No. 49 on Banani DOHS 2 Road .
BNP Senior Vice President (Retired) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, BNP Rural Development Secretary Gautam Chakraborty, Nationalist President Muktijoddha Dal, Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat, Central Executive Committee member Sushil Barua, Press Wing member President Shairul Kabir Khan and others were present.
After paying his respects, Major Hafiz Uddin Ahmed delivered the party’s message of condolence to CR Dutt’s son.
He told reporters at the time that Captain Abdur Rauf, led by CR Dutt, captured Kanaighat in Sylhet during the liberation war. The nation will respectfully remember your contribution in the war of liberation. You have a great role to play in building our army in an independent country. He was the head of the logistics department.
Hafiz Uddin said: “We pay tribute to such a heroic freedom fighter.” We pay our respects on behalf of BNP President Khaleda Zia and Acting President Tarique Rahman.
