Police arrested two rapists in Sunday’s incident. They have been sent to court after the case. Meanwhile, the woman was sent to the hospital for a medical examination, police said.
According to the police, the victim’s home was in a village of the Tarakanda Police Station in Mymensingh. The garment worker said that he had been working in a garment factory in Gazipur for the past 10 years. I met Nurul Islam (35), son of Khalilur Rahman from Palahar village at the Moazzempur junction of Nandail upazila. He invited me to a special function at his house on Saturday. He came to Dawa and got stuck with Nurul Islam. Nurul Islam raped her at noon in the absence of his wife. Later that night they took him to the home of his friend Nuruddin. There, the two took turns raping each other displaying different fears. They threatened to kill him if he protested. At one point he managed to escape and got on the Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road, arrived at the police station with the help of a CNG driver and reported the incident. Later, the police took him to the scene and arrested the two rapists according to his instructions.
The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Nandail Police Station, Abul Hashem, said the detainees were sent to court on the pretext of their arrest.
