Emerging model and actress Lauren Mendes committed suicide by attacking her parents for not accepting the person she loves. She committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan at her home in Kalachadpur, Gulshan. The police recovered her body and sent her to the morgue of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. In this incident a case of unnatural death has been registered. Gulshan Police Division Deputy Commissioner Sudip Kumar Chakraborty confirmed the matter.
“Initially we thought that model and actress Lauren had committed suicide because she was arrogant to her parents,” he said. It is being investigated if there is a motive behind her suicide.
According to police and related sources, Loren lived with her parents at their home in Kalachandpur below the Gulshan Police Station. Lauren starred in several music videos, dramas, and most recently a short film. She had a love affair with a young man. Loren’s parents were reluctant to accept the offer because the young man was Muslim. Loren’s parents scolded her Saturday night. That is why they believe that he may have committed suicide by hanging himself at some point in the night.
Police said family members saw Loren hanging from a ceiling fan in the morning and took her to Evercare (former Apollo) hospital in Bashundhara. The doctor on duty declared him dead.
According to relatives, Loren recently participated in the filming of a drama called ‘Troll’ directed by Sanjay Samaddar. On August 26, Apurba shot the play with Tasnia Farin.
