No fresh procession
Today is the 10th of Muharram. Holy Ashura. Ashura shines with exceptional significance in the history of Islam. A significant and sad day for the Muslim Ummah. The day is also a day to establish truth and justice for Muslims.
On this day of AD 61 H., Hazrat Imam Husain (RA), the beloved grandson of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), the beloved Prophet of Muslims, and his relatives were martyred at the hands of Yazid soldiers in the Karbala camp. The day of Holy Ashura is therefore the most important, heartbreaking and memorable for the Muslim world. Karbala’s painful duel has etched this day in deep black lines.
Imam Husain (RA) protested against anti-Islamic activities, he is remembered for his martyrdom with his family for defending the flag of truth. These Ashuras occupy a huge place in the history of Islam. On this day, Allah Ta’ala created the throne, the chair, the iron, the pen, the heaven and the earth, and on this day he created Adam (AS) and gave him a place in heaven. Later, due to a mistake made by Satan in persuading him, Allah sent him to this world on this day and chose him as his representative. After the prophet Noah (peace be upon him) preached the word of Tauhid for nine hundred and fifty years, when people of that age refused to observe Allah’s prohibitions, Allah’s anger descended.
As a result, the community of Hazrat Nuh (AS) was destroyed. Only the followers of Noah (PBUH) who believed in Tawhid were saved. During the Flood on the day of Holy Ashura, the ark of Prophet Noah (peace be upon him) with his followers stopped at the foot of Mount Judi. Some of its patterns are still there today. On the day of Holy Ashura, Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was born through hundreds of restrictions. Later, he was rescued from the fire of Nimrod and when he was about to sacrifice his dearest son Hazrat Ismail (AS) in the name of Allah, he was called Khalilullah or friend of Allah on the day of Holy Ashura.
It was on this day that Hazrat Ayub (AS) was freed from a serious illness, Hazrat Isa (AS) was born and Allah took him to the fourth heaven when he was a victim of the conspiracy of disbelievers. It was on this day that Hazrat Dawood (AS) received forgiveness from Allah, Hazrat Solomon (AS) was able to regain his lost kingdom, Hazrat Yunus (AS) was freed from the belly of a fish, Hazrat Yaqub (AS) was his lost son. Hazrat Yusuf (AS) returned after 40 years.

On the day of Holy Ashura, the Pharaoh’s wife, Bibi Asiya, adopted baby Musa. Once again, Hazrat Musa (AS) together with his people crossed the Nile River and were freed from the tyranny of the pharaoh. Pharaoh, on the other hand, drowned in a salty river near the Red Sea. Just as holy Ashura is recognized as the day of the creation of the whole world, the world will be destroyed on the Day of Resurrection. Many more such incidents have taken place on this day and more are to come.
There will be no fresh procession: no Due to the virus, there will not be a new Holy Ashura procession. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned the firing of fireworks on the occasion of Ashura.
On the occasion of Ashura, President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, JP-Jatiya Party Chairman Anwar Hossain Monju, MP, Secretary General Sheikh Shahidul Islam and others made statements.
