The organizing secretary of the Madaripur District Awami League, Ilias Ahmed Hawlader, 50, and his wife Mili Akhter, 42, have been arrested in an attempted murder case. Detective Branch (DB) also arrested a university student named Saidur Rahman (23) who was with him in the incident.

They were arrested at a house in the Mirpur-2 area of ​​the capital on Friday night. Later, Mill and Saidur were taken at night to the Madaripur Police Superintendent’s office. Both were put on trial Saturday afternoon.

According to police and sources in the case, Ilias Ahmed Hawlader, organizing secretary of the district Awami League in Madaripur, was sleeping at home on the morning of August 20 this month. Ilias Ahmed, the organizing secretary of the district Awami League in Madaripur, filed a case with the Sadar Model Police Station on 23 August for attempted murder. He made his wife Mili the only defendant in the case. He also mentioned the names of five other unidentified people. Police raided a house in the Mirpur-2 area of ​​the capital on Friday night in connection with the case. The DB police arrested Mili and Saidur, a university student who was with her.

The district detective police inspector and investigating officer Rajib Hossain confirmed the information. He said: ‘Mili and Saidur are in the custody of the DB police. During preliminary questioning, Millie said that due to fights and arguments in marital life, she hit her husband on the head with their son. She came to Dhaka after being injured and hid in someone’s house.
