Shortly after his death, he was instructed to analyze samples to identify Covid-19. Doctors did not have a chance to ignore that instruction. Five doctors and two staff members were called to medical school from their homes.</p>
<p>The laboratory was open around 8 p.m. Wednesday, several doctors said. Then, at 12:15 pm, he went to examine the samples of the dead person. Due to this there was a reaction among interested doctors. However, after completing the 91-sample test that afternoon, the doctors and staff concerned went home. After working all day, they had to return to the laboratory.</p>
<p>Abul Kalam, director and assistant professor of microbiology at Chittagong Medical College, told Prothom Alo that the deceased (Abu Musa) would be related to a high-ranking government official. For this, the laboratory was opened at night and the person was examined for the diagnosis of Covid-19 disease. The coronavirus was present in his body.</p>
<p>Abul Kalam further said: “We received the sample of that person at three in the afternoon on Wednesday before his death.” By then, 91 sample tests were almost complete in our laboratory. We left that sample on the evidence list the next day (Thursday). Under pressure from above, we had to analyze just one sample on Wednesday night.</p>
<p>The late Abu Musa lived with his family in the Eidgaon area of Halishahar in Chittagong City. The coronavirus has spread in that area. He fell ill and was admitted to the Chittagong Medical Observation Cell two days before his death. Doctors said he was related to a minister.</p>
<p>Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury, secretary general of the Chittagong branch of the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), told Prothom Alo that the late Abu Musa was a relative of a minister. For this, a doctor was called at night and the laboratory was opened and his sample, which was not looking well, was analyzed.</p>
<p>Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury further said that many of our medical friends are becoming infected with the crown. Like normal patients, their samples are being analyzed. No one is taking advantage more. Samples of the deceased on Wednesday could be analyzed on Thursday. For example, 10/12 hours after the death of a candidate for ward councilor and leader of the Awami League in Chittagong City, a crown was found on his body. That Awami League leader’s sample has been tested according to normal rules. “We will continue to speak out against breaking the rules,” he said.</p>
