Khulna District Magistrate Mohammad Helal Hossain ordered the closure of stores and shopping malls at the district-upazila and metropolitan levels in Khulna until further orders, for fear of overcrowding and ignorance of coronavirus infection in stores and shopping malls in Khulna. The order will take effect from 8 am on Friday. This information was provided in the information statement of the regional information department at noon.
However, emergency medical services, such as the pharmacy, will be open at all times. Apart from this, vehicles to transport daily necessities and agricultural products will be exempt from it. In the case of stores of basic necessities and raw materials, the instructions previously issued by the Khulna district administration will remain in effect.
All public, buyers and sellers, companies have been informed in the notification to comply with the previous guidelines. Legal action will be taken against individuals and companies that violate this order.
It should be mentioned that the Khulna district administration had decided to issue Memorandum No. 520 of April 9, 2020, subject to hygiene and social distance to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (Cavid-19). But due to non-compliance with the instructions, it was decided to close stores and malls again.
