US aircraft maker Boeing will build hundreds of cruise missiles for Saudi Arabia. For the past six years, when Saudi Arabia has been waging a brutal, poverty-stricken military campaign against Yemen, the US company has embarked on a program to build these missiles for Saudi Arabia.
The Pentagon said Wednesday that Boeing had received more than $ 2 billion to supply more than 1,000 surface-to-air missiles and anti-ship missiles to Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi government has received the first contract worth 96.196 billion for the modernization of 650 new cruise missiles and the Salam ER cruise missile. The modernization of the Salam ER, a GPS-guided air-to-surface missile with a range of 155 nautical miles (approximately 180 miles, 290 kilometers), will be completed in December 2026.
The Pentagon has also announced another $ 650 million deal to supply Saudi Arabia with 47 new Harpoon Block anti-ship missiles.
The Pentagon says it will build 650 new missiles as part of its support for Saudi Arabia and modernize some. The Pentagon says the missiles will be delivered to Saudi Arabia by 2027.
The United States has reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia is an important and close ally in the Middle East by supplying these missiles to Saudi Arabia.
