A new antibody test has been approved in the United Kingdom to detect the presence of the novel coronavirus in humans. Public health officials say the new coronavirus antibody, which has been approved for use in the UK, has been tested to be 100% accurate.

According to a report in The Telegraph, Downing Street now wants to get as many of this test kit as possible for them. On Thursday morning, Health Minister Edward Arger said the government wanted to do a new game-changing antibody test for front-line workers.

Professor John Newton, national coordinator of the UK coronavirus testing program, said that while it was not yet clear how much the presence of antibodies indicated resistance to Cavid-19, it was a very positive development.
He added: “We were confident that good quality antibody tests would be available when needed. Last week, scientific experts at PH Porton Down conducted a unique assessment of the new SARS-Cavi-2 serology department in record time. There they concluded that it could detect 100 percent accurate and precise antibodies.
