More Bangladeshis will return home from the Maldives on May 15 on a chartered flight from Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

A press release issued by the Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives on Sunday said that if the date were changed for unavoidable reasons, it would be announced on the High Commission’s Facebook page. The UNB news agency reported the news.

The High Commission issued a notification on May 3 to allow only Bangladeshi irregular / illegal expats in the Maldives who have a Maldivian government regularization card to return to Bangladesh.

The press release says the Maldivian government will issue medical certificates to expatriates listed. The place, date and time of the medical examination will be reported through Facebook.

According to the Bangladesh High Commission, each expatriate listed can carry one 20kg baggage and one fivekg bag.

Previously, on April 21, 80 Bangladeshis were repatriated from the Maldives on a return flight from a Bangladesh Air Force transport plane.
