Locals have long said there was a dispute with Krishnanagar Union Parishad president and trade unionist, Awami League president Zillur Rahman, Awami League leader from the Thanakandi village of the same union, Sardar Abu Kausar Mollah. On Sunday, people from both sides clashed with domestic weapons over the dispute. Mubarak Miah, a Zillur Rahman supporter with a sharp weapon, cut his leg and shouted slogans ‘Joy Bangla’ in the village, and supporters of Abu Kausar Mollah.
As the scene spread through social media, there was a wave of criticism. Members of the local administration and law enforcement officers sat on it. Later, the leader of the two parties was arrested at dawn.

Alamgir Hossain said police arrested the president of Krishnanagar Union Parishad Zillur Rahman of Kalabagan in the capital and Kausar Molla of the village of Thanakandi on Monday night.
