Even if shopping malls are allowed to open from May 10, no street vendor will be able to sit on the sidewalk. The directive letter was sent to the Chief of Police, Chief of BGB, Chief of the Bangladesh Coast Guard and Chief of Ansar and VDP of the Department of Public Security of the Home Office on Tuesday.

The letter said: “The government decided to open limited commerce, stores and shopping centers in different districts and upazilas of the country as of May 10.” Hat bazaars, business centers, stores, and malls must be restricted from 10 a.m. at 4 p.m. However, street vendors, street vendors, or temporary stores will not be permitted on sidewalks or in public places.

The letter also stated that the masks are mandatory for both buyers and sellers in designated business centers, stores, and malls. Each shopping center must follow the hygiene rules announced by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, including the use of hand sanitizer. The Interior Ministry has asked to hang a banner in front of each shopping center and mall saying “there is a risk of death if hygiene rules are not followed.” The letter also recalled instructions for implementing the blockade.

Hat bazaars, business centers, stores and shopping malls will be opened, but merchants must meet four conditions. This information has been given in a letter sent by the Ministry of Commerce. The letter has been sent to the President of FBCCI, President of all organizations and commercial chambers in the country and President and President of the Bangladesh Store Owners Association.

The letter said that, considering the general situation, the government decided to increase the general holiday / ban on public movement until May 16 (including the weekly holiday). In view of this, taking into account Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr, the government has decided to resume trade on a limited scale.

The four conditions are:

1) Stores and shopping malls should be limited from 10 a.m. at 4 p.m.

2) In stores and shopping malls, it is necessary to ensure compliance with other physical hygiene, including maintaining mutual physical distance during purchases.

3) Hand sanitizers, including hand washing, must be provided at the entrance of each shopping center and the precautions announced by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare must be taken.

4) Vehicles arriving at the shopping center must be disinfected.

Previously, following a directive from the cabinet department, the trade ministry said in a press release that the stores and malls would remain open from 10 a.m. at 4 p.m. May 10 in accordance with health regulations before Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
