The data comes from a joint study by Shahaduzzaman, a professor at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom, and Sumon Rahman, a professor at the University of Liberal Arts in Bangladesh. The results of the qualitative study were presented at an online conference on Saturday.

The study found that coronary coping would be difficult to combat without medical and financial incentives, rather than dealing with the fears and stigma associated with coronary prevention.

The study analyzed the development of fear and slander in six steps. In the first stage, a false sense of security is created that the disease will not spread in Bangladesh. It is speculated among people that it is a disease from other countries, the result of its evil and eating habits, it will not spread in Bangladesh. Again, corona germs cannot survive in this hot climate. Second, there is a growing sense of panic among returnees. Third, the situation is created to suspect everyone as a potential coroner. Meanwhile, several important meetings have been held, proving that people have no issues with Corona at the grassroots level. That becomes a cause of fear for conscious people. Fourth, after Corona’s expansion, ordinary people began to slander each other. Posters were also placed in many stores in different areas saying that the products would not be sold to expatriates. There are also obstacles to going to the victim’s house in Corona and burying him if someone dies. Fifth, there is confusion and fear among people about the blockade. Since everything is closed, many people panic over their livelihood. Disbelief and fear of treatment began to work. Sixth, a terrible culture of slander is created. Corona patients and healthcare workers are now victims of this scandal. There have also been incidents of attacks and evictions in some people’s homes.

The study says that a culture of panic and slander should be avoided at this time. With the help of the administration, a defamation party must be formed, which will include politicians, social workers, religious leaders and public administrators. People should be informed with adequate information in the media. These messages must be carefully disseminated. Also, there must be zero tolerance for rumors.
