Two people were burned to death in the explosion of a compressor in the ‘Style Zone’ hall in the capital, Naya Paltan. They died at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Russell, 28, and Shah Alam, 50, who had come to the salon to cut their hair. Abul Kalam (35), the owner of the salon, is still in treatment at the hospital.
Russell is the son of Motahar Hossain from the Agraratala village in Raiganj upazila in the Laxmipur district. Lived in 36 Naya Paltan. 59 percent of his body was burned.
On the other hand, Shah Alam is the son of the late Raham Ali of Kaukhali upazila from the Pirojpur district. He lived on 34/1, Naya Paltan. Eighty percent of his body was burned.
Last Wednesday (April 29) at night, an air conditioning compressor exploded in a room called ‘Style Zone’ located in Nayapaltan No. 44 below the Paltan police station in the capital. Three people, including the owner of the salon, were burned. Critically, they were admitted to the National Sheikh Hasina Institute for Burns and Plastic Surgery.
Russell, who had a haircut, died Friday night while in treatment there. Pedestrian Shah Alam died the following day, Saturday afternoon. Abul Kalam remains the owner of the treatment room at the hospital.
