9 people were burned in a cylinder explosion in Mithamain, everyone’s condition is critical

Nine members of the same family have been burned in a gas cylinder fire in the Katkhal village of Mithamin upazila inhabited by Haor in Kishoreganj. The fire broke out due to a gas line leak while cooking Saturday afternoon.

All the burn victims were first taken to the Bhagalpur Zahurul Islam Medical College Hospital. From there, 7 of them were sent to the Sheikh Hasina National Burn Unit in Dhaka.

According to locals, the gas spread to the whole house from the cylinder gas pipe leak in Hajipara in Katkhal at noon. At that time Sipainesha lit a fire with a cooking match. The explosion immediately occurred.

When the cylinder fire spread to the house, locals rescued the burn victims and put out the fire. Abdus Salam’s wife, Sepai Nesha, two sons Kamal and Anwar, Juena, daughter Taslima, two grandchildren Umme Habiba (one and a half months), Umme Hani (two years and six months) and Parveen were burned. 6 of them have been sent to Dhaka.

The condition of all of them is critical, said the doctor from the emergency department of the Zahurul Islam Medical College Hospital. Abu Bakr Siddique.
