61 Bangladeshis jailed in Vietnam

The court sent 61 Bangladeshi returnees from Vietnam to jail after showing them under Section 54 at the end of the quarantine.

There are accusations against Bangladeshis who have been misled into occupying the Bangladeshi embassy in Vietnam.

Hours earlier, the police arrested 61 migrant workers returning to Vietnam and took them to court. Each of the migrant workers said they went to Vietnam with the authorization of the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training.

The Deputy Commissioner of the Uttara (DC) Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Nabid Kamal Shaibal, said the 71 arrested have returned to Vietnam. They were in jail for being involved in a crime there. From there they were later sent to Bangladesh. However, we still don’t know exactly what kind of crime they committed.

Previously, on August 16, 106 Bangladeshi citizens were sent back to Dhaka from Vietnam. All of them were kept in quarantine for 14 days at the Uttara Diabari camp due to the corona virus. Her quarantine ended on August 31. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh police received complaints about those who committed crimes in Vietnam. According to him, of the 107 defendants, 61 were arrested on Tuesday.
