A court in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila granted a two-day pre-trial detention to eight people detained in connection with the explosion at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque on the west floor of Fatulla.
Six people were sent to the court of higher judicial magistrate Kausar Alam on Saturday afternoon for a five-day pre-trial detention for further questioning. Subsequently, the court granted them a two-day preventive detention.
The Narayanganj court inspector of police inspector Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to the media.
Meanwhile, CID DIG Moinul Hasan briefed the media in a briefing at the Narayanganj district office of the CID after arresting seven people, including an engineer from Titas, in connection with the explosion at the mosque on Saturday by the afternoon.
Those arrested are the managing engineer of the Titus Fatullah region. Sirajul Islam, Deputy Manager Mahmudur Rahman Rabbi, Assistant Engineer SM Hasan Shahriar, Assistant Engineer Manik Mia, Senior Supervisor. Munibur Rahman Chowdhury, Senior Developer. The blast took place at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque in the Paschimatalla area of Fatulla in Narayanganj on September 4 at 9:15 pm. 33 people died in the incident. One has returned home with treatment. However, the physical condition of the other three is critical.
