Seven Pakistani soldiers have died in Balochistan. The incident took place on Saturday night. The Pakistani military said in a statement Sunday that seven soldiers had been killed in a shootout between the two sides after the attack. However, no group has claimed responsibility so far.

The Pakistani army claims the incident took place near a checkpoint in the southwestern part of Baluchistan. The militants attacked as a convoy of troops passed by. Pakistani paramilitary troops were at the scene. Although they retaliated, the separatists fled.

The country’s military says the entire area has been cordoned off. No one can escape. The attackers are being searched. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted after the incident.

Various militant groups have been waging a separatist movement in Balochistan for a long time. Pakistan has long claimed that these groups are carrying out militant activities with the help of India. This part of Balochistan is very backward. No development work has been done. China has long traded in the region, which is loaded with coal and iron ore. Pakistan has also asked China for foreign investment. The Pakistani government alleges that India is regularly causing unrest there by pushing for such investment. India, however, did not respond.
