Saifur Rahman, a day laborer from Nagrajpur village of Bhangamor, Fulbari upazila union, is known to have married Fatema from Dakshin Naodapara, Hasnabad village, Nageshwari upazila union of Kurigram, 20 years ago. Five daughters come to his family one by one. He married the oldest daughter a year ago. Of the remaining four, one is in ninth grade, one is in seventh grade, and two are in infant grade. Fatema conceived again with the hope of having a child, although she spent her days with five daughters in a very poor family. On October 12, Fatema gave birth to three daughters together. According to her relatives, Fatema has been ill for a week after giving birth to three children at the same time.
Fatima’s mother, Rahima Begum, said: ‘After having 5 daughters one by one in hopes of having a son, this time three daughters were born together. Fatima’s body and mind are bad. How can I have so many children?
Fatima’s uncle, Meher Ali, said that although the physical condition of the three children was good after birth, Fatima’s condition has become critical. I am in no condition to speak. Even if you seek treatment from a village doctor, it is not enough. You cannot afford financially advanced treatment. Although she is expecting a child, Fatima is not happy because three daughters were born at the same time. Her husband is also unhappy, talks a lot incoherent. They worry about feeding so many children. So three newborn girls were posted on Facebook thinking of adopting them. However, the decision has been postponed for now. The decision will be made after Fatema recovers.
