The country’s leading academics want to meet with the Prime Minister to resolve the discomfort caused by the construction of the sculpture. At the same time, a special letter will be delivered to the Prime Minister highlighting the statements of the academics. The decision was made at a gathering of top academics at Jatrabari Madrasa in the capital on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by Allama Mahmudul Hasan, President of Al Hayatul Uliya Lil Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh, Qawmi Madrasa Combined Education Board.
The main academic representatives of the country presented various proposals at the meeting. Later, with everyone’s consent, the 5-point proposal was approved. He raised objections to various topics, including the construction of sculptures, the limited use of microphones in Waz mahfil, and insults against scholars.
The proposals adopted at the meeting are:
1. The manufacture of human figures and sculptures for any purpose is strictly prohibited in Islam. It is not lawful to pay tribute to a great person or leader by placing idols or sculptures. This causes pain in the soul of the deceased Muslim.
Instead of building statues or sculptures to pay tribute to someone and keep their memory alive, it is reasonable to look for an alternative better supported by the Quran and Sunnah in light of the beliefs and conscience of 92% of the people.
Recommendation 2: We strongly condemn insult, slander, satirical cartoons, etc. of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Provocative activities to destroy communal harmony in Bangladesh, especially the use of information technology, should be strictly monitored for abusive treatment of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the highest actions should be taken. legal against the guilty.
Recommendation-3: Unconditional release of the detainees in the past in the religious movement and withdrawal of the case. In this regard, all kinds of harassment against Alem-Ulama, Imam-Khatib and devout Muslims must be stopped. The damaged rebuilt mosque next to Dholaipar Chattar should be opened immediately for prayers.
Recommendation-4: Recently, the use of loudspeakers in religious gatherings under the pretext of noise pollution and people’s suffering has been causing administrative complications. But it goes without saying that there is no administrative initiative regarding general noise pollution, loud music, etc. Special instructions are not welcome on the pretext of waz-mahfil-only noise pollution. Therefore, to inspire people on the path of wellness, all religious gatherings must have the opportunity to perform their rituals on a regular basis.
Proposition 5: It is the duty of scholars to present the correct statement in light of the Qur’an and Sunnah on all matters that are forbidden and forbidden in the Sharia. But one class of people is behaving harshly and irresponsibly against scholars. Some are inciting the destruction of communal harmony. It is the responsibility of the government and the administration to find out and find a peaceful solution. Provocative speeches, disparaging comments, inflammatory slogans, processions-meetings will increase instability in society.
It was said from the meeting that despite the strict patience and restraint of the ulama, there is a strong fear of adverse reactions among ordinary people. The government must take appropriate action. Otherwise, the government will not be able to shirk responsibility for the chaos and instability that has arisen across the country. One of the government’s responsibilities is to prevent domestic and foreign conspiracies and unwanted interference, especially against Islam, religion, and Bangladesh. The meeting also called for strict monitoring of provocative activities to destroy communal harmony in Bangladesh, especially the use of information technology against the Prophet (PBUH) and taking maximum legal action against the culprits.
