The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and the Gazipur district administration have fined six companies, including five petrol pumps, for supplying less fuel.
The cases and fines were filed under the ‘Weights and Measures Standards Act 2018’ through mobile courts in the Mirpur and Gabtali and Gazipur Sadar areas of the Dhaka metropolis on Wednesday.
Messrs. Noor Diesel Pumps in the Mirpur Kotbari area of the capital have been fined Taka 50,000 for supplying less fuel at the rate of 590 ml per 10 liters in a diesel dispensing unit.
A fine of Rs 50,000 has been imposed on 4 underground storage tanks at Messrs service station. Dense in the same area for not having an updated calibration chart.
In addition, a mobile court was installed in the Sadar area at the joint initiative of the Gazipur Deputy Commissioner’s Office and BSTI. At this time, Messrs. Riyadh & Co.’s CNG filling station gave 340, 300 and 290 milliliters per 5 liters of fuel in 1 octane and 2 diesel dispensing units, respectively. For this reason, the company has been fined 60,000 taka.
