5 million vaccines will arrive in January

Health Minister Zahid Malek expects the coronavirus vaccine made by Oxford-Astageneca to arrive in Bangladesh in January next year. He said that of 30 million doses of vaccines, 5 million doses will arrive in the first phase in January. Then 50 lakh of vaccines will come at each step.

The information was given by the Minister of Health at the signing ceremony of the Health Department’s purchase agreement with the Seram Institute of India, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited at the Health Department on Sunday. Signed.

Under the agreement, the government of Bangladesh will import a total of 30 million vaccines from the Serum Institute of India in the next six months (5 million per month). The agreement was signed by Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, general director of the health department on behalf of the government and Nazmul Hasan Papon MP, managing director of Beximco Pharma on behalf of the company. The signed agreement was sent yesterday to the responsible authority of the Seram Institute of India. The authority of the Seram Institute of India will sign the agreement and send it back to the country before December 15.

Health Minister Zahid Malek MP, who was present as the main guest at the event, said: “The vaccine that the government is taking through the Serum Institute of India is the Osteford AstraZeneca vaccine. This vaccine has been found to be relatively safe in trials in different countries and this vaccine is suitable for the climate of our country.
