In the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area, 48,410 LED lights will be installed by next December at a cost of Tk 369 crore. The local government minister, Tajul Islam, and the DNCC mayor, Atiqul Islam, inaugurated the project at the IAB auditorium in Agargaon on Friday (January 1).
At the opening performance, Local Government Minister Tajul Ilsam said: “There were many problems in Dhaka City, there are still. If everyone tries from their own position, it is possible to make Dhaka beautiful. Everyone in the city should be aware of this. Installing these LED lights will illuminate the DNCC area with bright light. I am happy to participate in this work.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam thanked the Ministry of Local Government for their cooperation in installing the LED lights. He said: ’48 thousand lights have been brought from Europe. It has been tested by BUET experts that the light from these lamps will not cause eye problems.
Helaluddin Ahmed, main secretary of the Ministry of Local Government and officials from the Ministry of Local Government and DNCC were present on the occasion.
