Earlier, a group from Rapid Action Battalion-4 (RAB) heard that organized drug traffickers disguised as cattle traders would enter Dhaka with a large shipment of yaba. That day (December 16) around 8 pm, the RAB team took up position in front of the Government Bangla College in the Darussalam Thana area of the capital.
Around 2 am, a truckload of cattle pulled up in front of the Kalyanpur Eagle counter. Later, RAB seized 36,600 yaba pills worth Tk 1 crore from the truck. The defendant named Yunus who was in the truck was arrested. Four cows were also seized in a truck, Tk 12,920 for selling drugs and a cargo truck.
Wireless messages were sent to every police station in the country to find the owner of the cattle. But the owner of the cow could not be found even in 12 days.
On December 16, the Darussalam police informed the Dhaka Metropolitan Chief Magistrate (CMM) court in writing that there was no government stable in the area of the police station. There is no arrangement to keep the cows in the RAB office. This is why cows can die from lack of care. Cows are prone to various diseases in winter. For these reasons, four cows are sold at auction and must be deposited with the state treasury.
